Event Update:
Our dinosaur herd is running a little late… turns out crossing borders takes longer than crossing the Jurassic. Due to some shipping and customs delays, our dinosaur activation at Healesville Sanctuary will be opening a little later than anticipated.

Follow Zoos Victoria on socials or check back here for updates coming soon. In the meantime, there’s still plenty to explore and enjoy across our zoos, or you can visit the dinos at Melbourne Zoo from 3 April.

While searching for Critically Endangered species in the hope of starting new breeding programs, our scientific team discovered a lost population of dinosaurs.

Known for our work with some of Australia’s most endangered animals, these extraordinary, creatures have been entrusted into Healesville Sanctuary’s care.

In our free range Dino habitat, you will see fully grown Dinos and families amongst the beautiful trees of Healesville Sanctuary. Hear daily talks on how we care for our majestic Brachiosaurus and terrific T.rex. You may even get lucky enough to see our keepers release our young dinos into the wild!

Just like the specialised breeding amenities we have for other endangered species, Lost Sanctuary has purpose-built facilities to ensure these precious dinosaurs have the best chance to flourish into a sustainable breeding population. Visit our Dino Egg Hatchery and Baby Dino Health Centre to help us in our mission to breed dinosaurs, and set them up for a great start in life.

In our Dinos Breeding precinct, you will also find a Dino Dig where you can help uncover the dinosaurs of the past and learn valuable facts to help care for our Dinos today.
